Terms of Service

By creating an account or using Dutchpot (“the Platform”, “we”, “us”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. These terms apply to all visitors, registered users, and contributors.

Dutchpot is a community platform for sharing, discovering, and discussing authentic Caribbean recipes. Users can publish recipes, rate and comment on others’ recipes, save collections, and message other cooks. Certain features — such as publishing recipes — require a Contributor role, which is unlocked by building reputation on the platform.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Dutchpot. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these terms on your behalf.

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your password and account.
• You may not share your account or create accounts on behalf of others.
• You must provide accurate information during registration.
• You may delete your account at any time from your settings. Upon deletion, your profile and personal information will be removed, though content you published may be retained in anonymized form to preserve the integrity of community discussions.

“User Content” means any recipes, comments, photos, messages, or other material you submit to the Platform.

License you grant us: By submitting User Content, you grant Dutchpot a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, store, reproduce, and distribute that content on the Platform and in promotional materials for the Platform. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except where the content has been shared or embedded by others.

You retain ownership. These terms do not transfer ownership of your recipes or photos to us.

Your representations: By submitting content, you confirm that you own it or have the right to share it, and that it does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights.

You may not use the Platform to:

• Post content that is harassing, abusive, hateful, or discriminatory.
• Submit recipes or content that you did not create or do not have rights to share.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.
• Spam, phish, or distribute malware.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, servers, or systems.
• Use automated tools to scrape or harvest data from the Platform.
• Engage in any activity that disrupts or degrades the experience of other users.

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms or that we determine, at our discretion, is harmful to the community. Repeated violations may result in account suspension or permanent removal.

The Platform includes a reputation and contributor tier system. We reserve the right to adjust reputation scores, change contributor status, or restrict Platform features as a result of policy violations or moderation decisions.

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on Dutchpot infringes your copyright, please send a notice to reuelswebservices@gmail.com that includes:

• A description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed.
• The URL of the infringing content on Dutchpot.
• Your contact information and a statement made under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate.

We will investigate and remove content that is confirmed to be infringing.

The Dutchpot name, logo, design, and all software underlying the Platform are owned by Dutchpot and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These terms do not grant you any rights to use our trademarks or branding.

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Recipes and food information on the Platform are submitted by community members and have not been professionally reviewed — always exercise your own judgment regarding food safety and dietary suitability.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dutchpot is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including loss of data, revenue, or goodwill. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms shall not exceed the greater of $100 USD or the amount you paid us in the past twelve months.

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above. If we make material changes, we will notify registered users by email or by a prominent notice on the Platform. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

These terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before any formal proceedings.
